What a test costs
The Bear River Health Department regulation sets the inspection price as "Market," so it varies by station. The same fee applies whether you pass or fail, and if you fail or are rejected you get one free re-inspection at the same station within 15 calendar days. Under the Cache County regulation, a 1996 or newer vehicle can qualify for a one-time waiver if it still fails after $200 of documented emissions-related repairs, its emission parts are present, and it is outside the federal emissions warranty. (Source: Bear River Health Department (Cache County))
