What a test costs

There is no set fee in Utah County. Certified I/M stations set their own price but must post it, and since January 1, 2026 a station may charge only one emissions price for all vehicles, including diesels. The county lists nearly 200 certified stations, recognizable by blue and white signs. (Source: Utah County Bureau of Air Quality; Utah County Bureau of Air Quality; Utah County Health Department)

The county says three major emission components (catalytic converter, powertrain control module, and the OBD system on 1996 and newer vehicles) are covered by the federal emissions warranty for 8 years or 80,000 miles. If a newer car fails, ask the dealer about warranty coverage first. (Source: Utah County Bureau of Air Quality)
